We may still be in the thick of the winter, but it’s never too early to start thinking about high school senior portraits.  Typically shot the summer following junior year  (be careful not to procrastinate – many towns’ yearbook photo deadlines are in early fall!), this right of passage into adulthood is one of my favorite things to photograph.  I love the energy and the excitement seniors radiate.  The more seniors I photograph, the more I realize how much of an emotional experience this also is for their parents.  The volume of tears that flow at senior viewing sessions rivals those of my newborn sessions.  Being a mother myself, I can understand why. Our babies grow up in the blink of an eye.

The following is a taste of images from a super fun senior session I photographed of this past year in downtown Nashua.  Hunter is a high school senior at ConVal Regional High School in Peterborough NH.  She was a natural in front of the camera.  Isn’t she stunning?

Her sisters also got in on the action.  I loved witnessing how they interacted – each one with a distinctly different personality.

Yet all competitive! (Holy cow, they were fast.  It’s a miracle I was able to grab focus on the following session favorite of mine.)

Working it like divas.  This age group is so.much.fun.

We shot into sunset.  I simply couldn’t stop.  The dreamy light that remains after the sun goes down is nature’s gift to photographers.
